Who We Are

WAMS is an organisation run by medical students at the University of Nottingham to help people from underrepresented (Widening Participation, WP) backgrounds attain a place at medical school to become a doctor.

Our Aim: To make medical admissions and, in turn, the medical profession representative of the society it serves.

Our Objectives:

  • Increase aspirations

  • Educate about a career in medicine

  • Provide medicine application guidance

  • Advocate for prospective WP students

  • Support WP students currently in medical school

Who we work with:

  • Mature students

  • Teachers

  • Parents

  • Anyone else that is (or knows someone who is) interested in becoming a doctor
